I am a PhD student at the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab, TU Darmstadt, designing and studying adaptive dynamical systems with the help of tools from machine learning and optimal control. Robots nowadays are capable of solving a wide range of tasks, but they require careful programming and fine-tuning on each problem instance. Cyber-physical systems of the future, on the other hand, must learn from experience and adapt to changing environments quickly and efficiently to satisfy the growing demand for automation. This blog presents a selection of questions motivated by this vision which happened to fall into the vicinity of my interests and which I consider worth sharing with everybody.
