I am a PhD student at the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab, TU Darmstadt, designing and studying adaptive dynamical systems with the help of tools from machine learning and optimal control. Robots nowadays are capable of solving a wide range of tasks, but they require careful programming and fine-tuning on each problem instance. Cyber-physical systems of the future, on the other hand, must learn from experience and adapt to changing environments quickly and efficiently to accommodate the growing demand for automation. Many problems arise on the way towards making this future come true. This blog contains a tiny sample of questions that fell into the vicinity of my interests and answers to which I consider worth sharing with everybody.
